“O that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart, that I might go forth and speak with the trump of God, with a voice to shake the earth, and cry repentance unto every people!”
In this scripture Alma goes on to cry out the desires of his heart. As I read, I can hear him being totally frustrated with the people who will not listen and continue to find themselves getting into trying and troublesome situations. I am sure if he knew me, he would be counting me in his wayward group.
We are here to live and learn how to "get it right". We will be met with many obstacles and often we may feel overwhelmed at what life may put on our plate.
If we could just listen and learn, we would be amazed at how simple He has made it for us on our journey here.
But, we are human, and humans are prone to error.
A quote I heard recently, kind of sums it up:
“We are not human beings on a spiritual journey. We are spiritual beings on a human journey.”
A wonderful talk by past LDS Church President Gordon B. Hinckley (1919 - 2008)
I consider myself to be a person with a very, vivid imagination. We are only here on this planet for a short period of time. Someone, once compared this era, to a ‘micro-dot’, in the eternities. If we can make it through this ‘test’, then we can make it through the next life. What we decide to do with ourselves here and now, will not only affect our own lives, but the lives of our posterity and the friends we meet along the way. If, through my writing, like a smile or a shoulder, I can help just one person see life in a better perspective, then I have accomplished what I have set out to do.
